The Septic Saver is a layered composite of insulating materials which can be easily rolled out and staked into the soil directly above your septic system (see diagram below). The blankets block the chilling effect of winter air while also trapping and reflecting warmth back into the soil. This warmth comes from both the natural heat of the earth as well as the heat which is generated by the digestive processes occurring in your septic system. However trials have shown that even without a septic system generating heat underneath the blanket the Septic Saver will keep soil well above freezing all winter by trapping the natural warmth of the earth. upon rolling up the blanket in spring, you will see that the grass underneath has stayed green, while the surrounding grass has long since frozen and died.
